Incident:

On February 16, 2002, someone stole a backpack, containing a wallet and a Palm Pilot, that a campus visitor left unattended for a few minutes.About 15 minutes later, a suspect charged over $500.00 on a credit card inside the wallet.

On February 19, 2002, a resident student left his wallet inside a cubby in the Fitness Center.Later, he discovered his cash and a credit card had been removed and fraudulent charges had been made with the credit card.

Description of Suspect:

Black male, light complexion, 6’ 1,” wavy hair and a moustache, wearing a dark colored short jacket and small framed glasses.

If you have any information relating to this incident, or witness suspicious activity, please contact University Police at x3636.

Safety Tips:
IF IT’S VALUABLE TO YOU, KEEP IT ON YOU!! Most credit card thieves stake out high traffic areas looking for purses or bags left unattended. It takes them only seconds to remove your bag or strip your wallet from it.
Do not become complacent. Not everyone working out in the gym or sitting in Wagshall’s has your best interests in mind.
