campus crime alert #1

Incident:

During the morning of January 29, 2002, a high school student was hit over the head, knocked unconscious, and relieved of his wallet and money. This occurred in the alley between the old Hechinger’s on Wisconsin Avenue and the church on River Road.

Description of Suspect: Two black males wearing jeans.

If you have any information relating to this incident, or witness suspicious activity, please contact University Police at x3636.

Safety Tips:

AVOID ALLEYS!! They may be a shortcut, but no one can see you in there.

Studies show that street thieves avoid people who appear confident and purposeful when walking.

When walking, stay in public areas.

If confronted, give up your belongings calmly. Thieves want they same thing you do, to get out of there quickly.

Your money is not worth your life!
